The new Tomb Raider's are trying to be a gritty realistic survival shooter with supernatural elements woven into the plot. Lara is not supposed to be the supernatural element. When TR is set in the mushroom kingdom I'll happily accept the premise that she can craft armor piercing arrows instantly and that they can defeat any enemy with ease.
